  • Important Instructions for Parents/Guardians of Prospective Applicants
    Eligibility Requirements:

    • The student must be in 8th grade as of September 1, 2025.
    • The student and parent/guardian must be a full-time resident of Hudson County.

     

    Application Instructions:
    1. Submit a Separate Application for Each Student

    • If you have more than one student applying, please complete a separate application for each.
    • Only one application may be submitted per student. If multiple applications are received, the student and parent/guardian will be contacted to confirm which application should remain active. All other submissions will be voided.

    2. Complete the Application in One Session
    The application must be completed in one sitting. You cannot save your progress and return later. Please be prepared before starting.

    3. Prepare Required Information in Advance
    Before you begin the application, have the following information ready:

    • School Counselor’s contact information
    • Recommender’s name, email address, and phone number
    • Chosen major(s)
    • Student’s written essay(s)
    • Google Slide link to digital portfolio

    4. Email Verification Required for ONLY ONE Parent/Legal Guardian

    • One parent/legal guardian listed in the application must have their email address verified. This step ensures that we have the correct contact information associated with your student's application.
    • A verification code will be sent to the listed email address. Please check your inbox (and spam/junk folder) to complete this required step.
    • The email address you provide and verify will be used exclusively for application-related communications. All updates, reminders, and important information about your child’s application will be sent to this verified email only. Please ensure you enter an active and regularly monitored email address.

      The recommender will have until Friday, November 21, 2025 at 11:59 PM to submit a recommendation on your behalf.

      The RECOMMENDATION LETTER IS REQUIRED and must be submitted by a classroom teacher electronically. Please input the recommendation information below. You will need to input a recommender's full name (first and last name), a valid email address, their subject area (for example Math), and phone number.

      Portfolios are only accepted in the form of Google Slides from a personal Gmail account. Please be sure you share your Google Slide from your personal Gmail account with the public. If you do not share it with the public we will not be able to view your portfolio.

      Your Google Slide portfolio must have a Table of Contents (TOC) and a maximum of 10 slides. Please focus on your 1st chosen major ({cteMajor}) for your portfolio.

      Hard copies of portfolios will not be accepted.

      The letter of recommendation is due Friday, November 21, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

      After the application is submitted, counselors who are registered with our application system will receive an email that the student has applied. They have until Friday, December 19, 2025 at 3:00 PM to complete their section and submit documentation. The email verified in the application will receive another confirmation email once the counselor completes their portion.

      Information regarding the status of an application is not available by phone or email. All applicants will be notified through their verified email of their acceptance or denial.
